Deserted Palace is Jarre’s first album, a library album for use in advertising, jingles and films. It has been produced by Sam Fox Records in the United States, where electronic music was much more popular than in Europe at that time.

There are two different covers of this LP : one featuring a castle on a pink background, and the other one on blue background, in a M.C. Esher imaginary landscape. Though it has not been published to great exposure, the album has lived its life as a bootleg among the Jarre fan community.
